Dr ghobad Mohammadi    

Brief introduction:

  • Dr.Ghobad Mohammadi is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Iran Research Chair in Pharmacy, Biomaterials Sciences and Nanomedicine (2013-2021) at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences. He is the lead for the Biomaterials and Medical Devices and Drug Delivery Research Group.

    He is a pharmacist by qualification and his research is predominantly in health and pharmaceutical sciences. His work experience includes both academic and the pharmaceutical industry research fields

 Degrees:

       Ph.D. (Pharmaceutics) : Tabriz University of Medical Sciences (Iran), (2003-2010)

    Post-PharmD research fellowships (Pharmaceutics): University of Helsinki (Finland),(2010)

Brief Skills and Expertise:

  • Create hybrid systems, e.g., DNA-nanoparticles, carbon nanotube composites and other unique structures
  • Investigate natural and synthetic materials for fabrication of delivery and diagnostic systems
  • Create interfacing methods between physical and biological systems
  • Investigate molecular functions at the bio/nano interface using computer modelling and visualization of the delivery systems
  •  Develop novel delivery systems and formulations for drugs, proteins, nucleic acids and vaccines
  •  Encapsulation of therapeutically active molecules in nanoparticles for drug delivery
  • pH sensitive release of therapeutically drug from biodegradable microparticles for drug delivery
  • Development of water soluble complexes with therapeutically drug for delivery


Research Interests  :

Dr Mohammadi's area of expertise and interest is Pharmaceutics and drug delivery. His research is focused on the design and development of nanomaterials based delivery systems that can increase solubility, modify the pharmacokinetic pattern, reduce toxicity and increase the efficacy of different therapeutic agents.
